Trains to Romiley

Romiley railway station has long served one of Stockport’s eastern neighbourhoods of Romiley in Greater Manchester. It was opened in the mid-19^th century by the then Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway along the line to New Mills. Several years later, links to Macclesfield and Stoke-on-Trent were added. It’s a busy little commuter station serving almost 1,000 people a day and is run and maintained by Northern. The original red-brick buildings still exist and are used as the ticket office which is open everyday other than Sundays. Facilities including overhanging roofs which provide shelter on both sides of the tracks, bench seating and digital displays with passenger information. There are two to three direct trains to Manchester Piccadilly in 21 minutes and an hourly direct service to Sheffield in 58 minutes.
