A station has been at this location since 1850 although it was originally called Llantrisant. Pontyclun train station has two platforms, both with step free access. They are connected by a footbridge and steps or via the Cowbridge Road over-bridge. Local bus service connections can be found on Cowbridge Road and Llantrisant Road. There is no ticket office at this station.
