Trains to Plockton

Plockton train station serves the village of Plockton on the shores of Loch Carron in the Highlands of Scotland. The station lies on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line between Dingwall and Kyle of Lochalsh. Abellio ScotRail operate the train services on this line; they provide four trains each way on weekdays and Saturdays, and one train each way on Sundays, increasing to two Sunday trains from May to September. The fastest journey from Plockton to Dingwall is 1 hour and 48 minutes.  

Plockton itself has a mild micro climate due to facing east, towards Loch Carron and away from the prevailing winds. The television series Hamish Macbeth was filmed here. Plockton train station opened in 1897. The old railway building, now privately owned, is a Category B listed historic building. The station has a single low platform with rough level access; wheelchair users and parents with pushchairs may require assistance through the zig zag gate. The station is unstaffed.
