Petts Wood train station, in the leafy Bromley suburb of London is in Travelcard Zone 5, making it a popular spot with commuters heading for central London. Trains through the station head regularly to several of the capital's busiest stations, including Waterloo, Victoria, Charing Cross and London Bridge.
Services north to London Cannon Street, London Victoria and London Charing Cross leave the station from platform 3, and services in the opposite direction leave from platform 4 for Sevenoaks and Orpington.
The railway lines divide the suburb in two, into Petts Wood East, a classic example of 1920s town planning with larger homes to appeal to a wealthy market, and the more densely populated Petts Wood West. Both sides have a mix of independent shops, cafes and local business, running the length of their respective high streets on Fairway and Queensway. A large Morrisons supermarket is directly opposite the station entrance.
