Trains to Penkridge

Penkridge train station is on the Birmingham branch of the West Coast Main Line. It serves the town of Penkridge with trains to Birmingham, Crewe and Liverpool. The weekday service from Penkridge is two southbound trains and one northbound. Extra services run at peak times, and trains run hourly on Sundays. Popular direct journeys from Penkridge include Crewe, a journey of 27 minutes, and Birmingham New Street, with a fastest journey time of 29 minutes. 

The station at Penkridge was opened in 1837 with the permission of the local Lord Hatherton, who accepted the disruption to the village and the inconvenience of the train line crossing his land in exchange for certain privileges, including the right to demand that express and mail trains stop at Penkridge for the convenience of himself and his guests. 

Penkridge train station has two platforms, both with ramped access from nearby car parks. A subway under the line connects them. There are simple shelters on both sides for the use of waiting passengers.
