Outwood Railway Station serves the Outwood district of Wakefield, West Yorkshire, with regular Northern trains operating on the Wakefield Line. The first stop past Leeds trains from Outwood run southbound once an hour to Doncaster and Sheffield respectively, both via Wakefield Westgate, from platform 1. Northbound trains from platform 2 run to Leeds only. On Sundays, service is hourly to Leeds and two-hourly to Doncaster and Sheffield each.

Although unstaffed, Outwood Station has good facilities for customer use. A station car park and bicycle storage are available for passenger use, but as there are no ticketing provisions, passengers should instead purchase tickets ahead of time or on board the train from a guard. Waiting shelters with bench seating and customer help points are installed on both platforms for customer use. Train running information is provided via digital display screens, timetable poster boards, and automated announcements. There is step-free access via ramps to both platforms.
