Trains to Newton Aycliffe

Newton Aycliffe Railway Station serves the town of Newton Aycliffe in County Durham with regular trains operating on the Tees Valley Line. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Northern. During typical off-peak hours, trains from Newton Aycliffe operate on a basic hourly frequency in each direction, with service frequency becoming two-hourly on Sundays. Southbound services on the Tees Valley Line from Newton Aycliffe generally run through to Saltburn via Middlesbrough.  

Recently the focus of station improvement efforts as part of the Tees Valley Metro project, Newton Aycliffe Station has fully upgraded amenities for customer use. The waiting shelters located on both platforms are fully lit and have covered bench seating for customer comfort, and train running information is provided on digital departure screens and via automated announcements. There is ramped access throughout the station, from a public footpath to platform 2 and from Greenfield Way to platform 1.
