Trains to Nelson

Lying close to the line’s terminus at Colne, Nelson Railway Station serves the town of Nelson in Lancashire with regular Northern trains operating on the East Lancashire Line. Trains from Nelson operate on an hourly basis, with westbound trains running towards Burnley Central, Accrington, Blackburn, Preston, and Blackpool South; eastbound trains run only to the terminus at Colne, two miles away. On Sundays, trains run two-hourly. All trains depart from the station’s single platform. 

The station ticket office is staffed on a part-time basis until the mid-afternoon and is located near the Tourist Information office. A station car park and cycle storage are available for customer use. Train running information is provided via digital departure and arrival screens. Toilet facilities, payphones, and waiting shelters with bench seating are located on the platform. Nelson Station is fully step-free accessible, with ramps to the platform and a level walkway to the nearby bus station.
