Trains to Moorfields

Lying on the Northern and Wirral Lines, Moorfields Railway Station serves Liverpool with frequent services that run to all stations on the Merseyrail network. The third-busiest station on the network, trains from Moorfields on the Northern line depart four times an hour to Southport, Ormskirk, and Kirkby respectively; these services all run in the opposite direction to Liverpool Central, with four hourly continuing to Hunts Cross via Liverpool South Parkway. In evenings and on Sundays, trains to Kirkby and Ormskirk operate only twice an hour. Trains on the Wirral Line depart from platform 3 four times an hour to New Brighton, West Kirkby, and Chester respectively; two run to Ellesmere Port.

As is standard for Merseyrail stations, Moorfields is staffed during all opening hours and has platform CCTV throughout. A shop facility, toilets, and cycle storage are provided for customer use. Train running information is provided via live departure and arrival screens. There is step-free access via lift, but entrances are somewhat narrow.
