Llanwrda railway station is a small station serving the village of Llanwrda on the River Towy in West Wales. Eight trains run each day to Craven Arms, (with onward connections to Shrewsbury, Crewe, Chester, Manchester). Around five trains run daily to Llanelli (with onward connections to Swansea and West Wales.)
Llanwrda station is on the Heart of Wales line which runs from Shropshire through mid-Wales to South West Wales. The scenic route offers many highlights including spa towns and villages, viaducts, bridges and tunnels. Llanwrda itself is close to the A40, for journeys further into Wales or towards the Brecon Beacons or Shropshire. Also close by is the Dolaucothi Estate, a country house estate that encompasses the Dolaucothi Gold Mines, the only known gold mines in Britain dating from Roman times
