Llanhilleth railway station is a small station on the Ebbw Valley Railway south of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The historic line ran from the 1850s until 1964 when it closed, reopening in 2008. Trains from Llanhilleth take around 48 minutes to Cardiff Central (with onward connections to Bristol and London Paddington) and around 13 minutes to Ebbw Vale Town. An extension to the route that will provide an hourly train from Ebbw Vale Town to Newport is currently being debated.
Llanhilleth station serves the old coal mining village of Llanhilleth which now has an award-winning micro-brewery. Walkers can take the train to Ebbw Vale Town and then walk back to Lalnhilleth through the stunning scenery of South Wales.
