Trains to Liverpool James Street

One of the busiest stations on the network, Liverpool James Street Railway Station serves the centre of Liverpool city with Merseyrail services on the Wirral Line. Trains from Liverpool James Street run every five minutes around the Liverpool city centre loop to Moorfields, Liverpool Lime Street, and Liverpool Central. Trains running in the opposite direction serve Hamilton Square with quarter-hourly extensions alternately to New Brighton, West Kirby, and Hooton. After Hooton, trains continue quarter-hourly to Chester and half-hourly to Ellesmere Port.

Typically for Merseyrail services, Liverpool James Street is staffed during all opening hours and tickets should be purchased from the booking office directly. Platform CCTV is installed throughout the station. Toilet facilities with payphones, a cashpoint, and waiting areas are all available for customer use. Train running information is provided via digital departure and arrival screens. Those wishing to stow their cycles at the station may do so, provided space is available. There is step-free access to the platforms via lifts.
