Trains to Lairg

Located just south of the village, Lairg Railway Station serves Lairg in the Highland council area with ScotRail trains operating on the Far North Line. A natural consequence of the station’s isolated locale, only four trains from Lairg operate daily in each direction on the Inverness to Wick via Thurso service; an additional Inverness departure operates southward in early mornings, and on Sundays, there is only one train in each direction. 

Lairg Station has storage space for 6 cycles and a small but free station car park with wheelchair-accessible bays. As there are no ticketing provisions at this station, passengers should take care to purchase tickets for travel from Lairg ahead of time or on board the train from a conductor. Train running information is provided via display screens with arrival data. Waiting rooms with seating are available on both platforms. While there is step-free access to platform 1 for Inverness-bound services, platform 2 for Wick-bound services is accessed by stairs and footbridge only.
