Kinghorn Railway Station serves the town of Kinghorn in Fife with regular Abellio ScotRail service on the Fife Circle Line, close to 20 miles northeast of Edinburgh. Monday through Saturday daytimes, trains from Kinghorn operate half-hourly with southbound service to Edinburgh and northbound to Glenrothes with Thornton. One northbound train continues to return to Edinburgh via Cardenden; the other terminates at Glenrothes and returns via the coast line. In evenings, service drops to be hourly both directions; northbound trains run to Kirkcaldy and Markinch and Dundee or Perth. On Sundays, hourly trains operate on the Fife Circle. 

Facilities at Kinghorn Railway Station include a staffed ticket office and bicycle stands for customer use. Pre-purchased tickets may be collected from the ticket office. Train running information is provided via digital departure screens and automated announcements on the station PA system. Basic shops are available and there are toilet facilities on platform 2. Waiting shelters with seating are present on both platforms. There is step-free access to platform 2; platform 1 is accessed by stairs only. (
