Hounslow station is located within London Travelcard Zone 5 in the London Borough of Hampton, west London. Originally built in 1850, it has stood on its current site for 125 years. Today, the station runs regular services to Waterloo, via either Brentford or Richmond, as well as additional services to Weybridge and Woking. A recent refurbishment saw it acquire a new booking hall and toilet and improved disabled access.
In contrast to the borough's urban setting, Hounslow Heath - a large public space and nature reserve just a short walk from the station - offers woodland, wetlands, picnic areas and sprawling wildflower meadows. The area is of major historical importance, formerly the site of a Roman road from London to the southwest. If you're looking for shopping, a 10-minute walk up Whitton Road will bring you to Hounslow's bustling pedestrianised High Street and the Treaty Shopping Centre.
