Hornsey station serves the suburban hub of Haringey in north London. Situated in Travelcard Zone 3, the station has good links to the City, with trains reaching London King's Cross and Moorgate in less then 15 minutes. Situated by the New River canal, the station dates back to 1850 and also houses the important Thameslink trains depot.
Due to its ideal location and comparatively modest house prices, Hornsey is a popular place to live – its well-connected station is another bonus, and gives it the edge over its station-free neighbours Crouch End and Muswell Hill. Although the area is largely residential, there is plenty to see and do here. The expansive Alexandra Park has fine views over London and numerous sports grounds, all surrounded by charming Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses. The thriving High Street, just a short walk north of the station, has masses of cafes and restaurants. To reach Alexandra Park, keep heading north along the pleasant New River Path.
