Holton Heath train station has been open since 1916, however, it was not used by the public until 1924 due to it being in use by the Royal Navy Cordite Factory during World War I. The station now offers daily services to London Waterloo and Weymouth. Getting into the city of London from Holton Heath station can take just 2 hours and 18 minutes. Platform 2 at Holton Heath can take you to Weymouth this service has several stops including Wareham, Dorchester, and Upwey. Trains arrive every hour from Monday to Saturday en route to Weymouth and the average travel time is 37 minutes.  

The station has two platforms connected via a footbridge. There are two entry points at Holton Heath, both of these lead onto platform 1 and can be used by wheelchair users unaided. There is no step free access to platform 2. Ticketing facilities are not available at this station.
