Haverfordwest is a historic market town on the West Wales Line in the hills of Pembrokeshire. Its station runs regular services towards Milford Haven in the south and Manchester Piccadilly in the north, and is also on several busy bus routes, with services running to Fishguard, Cardigan and Aberystwyth. The town is one of west Wales' major transport hubs, situated at the junction of the A40, A4076 and A487.
Haverfordwest's town centre is just west of the station, across the River Cleddau. It boasts the Riverside shopping centre, home to a wide array of shops and bars, and an award-winning farmers' market, held every Friday. For more active visitors, there are beautiful walks to be enjoyed in nearby parts of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, including great riverside walks along the Cleddau, which flows into the Daugeleddau estuary to the south. And finally, the town has one more claim to fame: it's the birthplace of Batman actor Christian Bale.
