Trains to Handforth

Handforth train station serves the village of Handforth, Cheshire, with regular Northern service on the Crewe to Manchester Line. During the week, two trains from Handforth operate per hour in each direction between Alderley Edge and Manchester Piccadilly or Crewe and Manchester. In the evenings, service becomes hourly between Crewe and Manchester only. On Sundays, hourly services operate to both Manchester and Alderley Edge with continuing service to Crewe. Additionally, the 130 bus stops just outside Handforth Station, which also serves Alderley Edge, Cheadle, East Didsbury, Manchester Piccadilly and Macclesfield among others.

Station facilities at Handforth include bicycle lockers and stands with CCTV monitoring, allowing passengers to easily store their cycles ahead of travel. There's a ticket office staffed part-time until the mid-afternoon. For ticket purchase outside this time, customers should look to buy their tickets on board or online. Public WiFi access is available throughout the station. There are waiting shelters and bench seating on both platforms. Neither platform has step-free access.
