One of the town’s two major rail stations, Hamilton Central train station serves Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, with Abellio ScotRail service on the Argyle Line. Two trains from Hamilton Central operate per hour to Motherwell and Larkhall each. One Motherwell train runs to Cumbernauld via Whifflet. Trains bound for Glasgow call at all stops and proceed through to Dalmuir via Clydebank or Milngavie. On Sundays, trains operate half-hourly to Motherwell and Milngavie and hourly on the Larkhall to Balloch route.
