Trains to Greenock West

One of the eight stations serving the town of Greenock, Greenock West train station is served by regular Abellio ScotRail trains running on the Inverclyde Line between Gourock and Glasgow Central. All services to and from Glasgow call at Greenock West. Services run approximately quarter-hourly beginning early in the morning and terminating late at night. Westbound trains from Greenock West run to Gourock, while eastbound trains run to Glasgow Central via Paisley Gilmour Street. Westbound trains serve all stations, while eastbound trains alternate between express services to Port Glasgow, Bishopton, and Gilmour Street only and all-stop stations. In the evening, services run half-hourly instead of quarter-hourly, and on Sundays, trains run hourly on an all-stations route only.

Originally designed to be a Renaissance-style stone building with full amenities, Greenock West maintains good facilities for passenger use today with a staffed booking office, self-service ticket machines, smartcard validators and train-running information displays with automated announcements. Both platforms have waiting shelters, bench seating and customer help points. Refreshments may be purchased from the café located in the booking hall. There's no step-free access.
