Gatley train station is a stop on the Styal Line and is popular amongst commuters for its short journey times to Greater Manchester. Services run northbound on platform 2 to Manchester Piccadilly and southbound on platform 1 to Manchester Airport. Some peak TransPennine Express trains continue onto Crewe. The station is located on the A560 and provides a car park which is free of charge for all rail passengers.

On the Greater Manchester bound platform, you will find a waiting room with an adjoining ticket office. Please be aware this office is only open in the mornings and there are no electronic ticketing machines available at this station. Both platforms have step-free access via ramps and have a connecting footpath underneath the line. This access was added in 2007 during reconstruction to the platforms, and in 2010 Gatley train station also saw the addition of electronic information screens on each platform.
