Trains to Gathurst

Gathurst train station was built in 1855. Since then, the main station building has become the Gathurst Station Inn Pub. The station has two platforms — platform 1 is accessible via the station car park, which can be used by wheelchair users unaided. Platform 2 is accessible via a sloped pathway leading from Gathurst Road. The station has services running Eastbound towards Manchester Victoria and Westbound towards Southport. Trains to Manchester Victoria arrive at Gathurst every hour from Monday to Friday, and this service increases in the mornings to accommodate morning commuters. This service during the weekend requires changes and can include non-rail journeys. From Platform 2 all services head Westbound and arrive once per hour from Monday to Sunday.

The local town of Wigan is just a 5-minute journey away from Gathurst train station. Facilities at this station are limited, but both platforms have shelters available for passengers awaiting their train. Unfortunately, there's no ticket office or ticket machine available at this station.
