Trains to Galashiels

Galashiels train station is the penultimate stop on the line from Edinburgh to Tweedbank. This station was closed in 1969 and reopened on a new site in 2015 as part of an initiative to connect more southern Scottish villages and towns to Edinburgh. Services from platform 1 take you to Edinburgh, and from platform 2 you can head directly to Tweedbank. Trains run roughly every 30 minutes in each direction. 

This is an unmanned station, however, purchasing and printing of pre-paid tickets are available via ticket machines at the station. If any assistance is required a help point is located near the platform. The station provides a waiting room, and all departure and arrival information is displayed on electronic screens around the station. Both platforms are connected via a footbridge and disabled access is also available via a ramp. All operations at Galashiels train station are managed by Abellio ScotRail.
