Fishersgate train station sits on the West Coastway Line between Southwick train station and Portslade train station. First built in 1905, the station was given the name Fishersgate Halt, this later changed in 1969 when it was given its current name. The station has two platforms. Platform 1 has a regular service to Brighton Station and Platform 2 heads to West Worthing Station. Two trains per hour stop at Fishersgate en route to West Worthing, the fastest journey time for this route is approximately 18 minutes. Getting to Brighton station from Fishersgate takes approximately 11 minutes, with trains arriving twice per hour.

The station has no ticket office, but a ticket machine is available for passengers to buy their tickets. You can enter and exit the station from both Shell Dale Road and Gardner Road. The two platforms are connected via a footbridge, and both have shelters available for passengers waiting at the station.
