Trains to Essex Road

Based in Canonbury, London, Essex Road train station was first built in 1904 and is on the Northern City Line. In 1922 the station was known as Canonbury & Essex Road, it was later changed back to Essex Road in 1948. You can head directly to Welwyn Garden City in around 40 minutes, Moorgate in under 8 minutes and Hertford North is just a 40-minute journey from Essex Road. Trains run from Monday to Sunday, with just a slight drop in the trains arriving per hour during the weekend. The station sits at the junction of Essex Road and New North Road the entrance to the station is on Canonbury Road.

This deep-level underground station is managed by Great Northern. Facilities available at the station include a ticket office open Monday to Sunday and two platforms accessible via a lift or spiral staircase. Several London bus routes including the 38, 56 and 73 are available from outside the station.
