Built in 1840, Enfield Lock station lies in the London Borough of Enfield, within London Travelcard Zone 6, just inside the boundary of the M25. Formerly the main station for the Royal Small Arms Factory until its closure in the 1980s, the station is now a busy commuter hub, serving both the Enfield Village housing estate and the nearby Innova Science and Business Park.
The station on the Tottenham Hale branch of the Lea Valley Lines is frequented by passenger services to London Liverpool Street and Hertford East, leaving from platforms 1 and 2 respectively.
Taking its name from the nearby lock on the River Lee, the area forms part of the Lee Valley Park and Enfield Lock Conservation Areas, home to captivating canal-side walks and picturesque open spaces, most notably, Albany Park and Prince of Wales Field, both just a few minutes' walk from the station.
