Dumbarton Central Railway Station serves the town of Dumbarton with regular service by Abellio ScotRail along the West Highland Line and North Clyde Line. On the North Clyde and Argyle Lines, six trains from Dumbarton Central depart southeast to Glasgow Queen Street and further. Two are limited stop trains to Edinburgh, two run to Springburn and Cumbernauld via Yoker, and two runs to Airdrie via Singer. Northwest trains run every half an hour to Balloch and Helensburgh central, with an additional two trains terminating here. On the West Highland Line, services run to and from Glasgow Queen Street towards Oban (six trains per day, three on Sundays), and to Fort William and Mallaig (thrice daily on weekdays, one or two on Sundays). The Highland Caledonian Sleeper also calls at Dumbarton Central, providing a direct link to London Euston via Edinburgh and Crewe.
