Dinting Railway Station serves the village of Dinting, less than two miles from Glossop, with regular Northern service on the Manchester-Glossop Line east of Manchester Piccadilly. Service to Dinting Railway Station is half-hourly during the day, with one train from Dinting departing westbound for Manchester Piccadilly and one northbound to Hadfield via Glossop, where trains reverse. Trains departing in the early morning, late evening, and during rush hours start or terminate at Glossop. In the evenings, service becomes hourly.
Located close to the historic Dinting Viaduct, Dinting Station currently uses two of its original four platforms; station buildings on the two disused platforms remain, but not in rail use. Dinting Station is staffed part-time with a manned ticket office located on platform 2. Outside of staffed hours, tickets should be purchased ahead of time or on the train. There are sheltered waiting areas on both platforms, and step-free access is available throughout the station. Departure and arrival screens, automated announcements, and timetable posters all provide train running information.
