Dalston Kingsland railway station serves the district of Dalston in the London Borough of Hackney. It’s part of the London Overground and is in the Travelcard Zone 2 so travellers are permitted to use their Oyster cards for journeys from the station. The station originally opened in the mid-19th century, though closed 15 years later. In the early ‘80s, the station was completely rebuilt and opened again by British Rail. Interestingly, the station partly falls in the London Borough of Islington. The station sits below street level, so there are steps leading down to both platforms. When you disembark at Dalston Kingsland, you’ll be in the heart of the trendy East End. There’s no shortage of hip bars and restaurants within walking distance of the station. Don’t miss catching one of the arthouse flicks at the Rio Cinema.
