Trains to Creswell

Creswell railway station serves the small community of Creswell and Clowne in the heart of Derbyshire. It was originally called Elmton and Creswell when it was opened by Midland Railway over a century ago, but later dropped “Elmton” after the closure of nearby Creswell and Welbeck in the late 19^th century. Today, you can still see the now defunct branch line which took a circuit route through the nearby towns and villages, but this was later closed in the mid ‘50s. Today, the station’s two platforms straddle the Robin Hood Line which runs between Nottingham and Worksop. Facilities at the station are basic with just shelters, bench seating, and station lighting. Commuters use the peak time hourly direct service to reach Nottingham in 53 minutes and Worksop in as little as 14 minutes.

Creswell is small, but there are plenty of things to do when you arrive in town. As well as several restaurants and cosy pubs, you’ll be within walking distance of the old St Mary Magdalene's Church and numerous small parks.
