Trains to Cowden (Kent)

Cowden railway station serves the community of Cowden and the surrounding Kent villages and hamlets. It’s a tiny one platform station, though the handsome original brick station buildings make it one of the prettiest along the Uckfield branch of the Oxted Line. During the mid-90s, the station became unstaffed and is only serviced by diesel trains as the tracks that pass through aren’t electrified. It’s managed and operated along with the trains by Southern. Facilities including platform seating, station lighting, and timetable posters. During peak weekdays, there is an hourly direct service to Oxted taking just 19 minutes, and an hourly service to London Bridge in the heart of the capital in 53 minutes.  

There might be little to do in Cowden itself, but stepping off at the station puts you in the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding National Beauty. Here, the landscape is known for its rolling green countryside, woodland, and several stately medieval manor houses.
