The village of Claygate sits in the county of Surrey, Claygate train station is operated by South Western Railway. This is a busy village station with trains arriving every 30 minutes, in both north and south directions. If you are heading northbound towards London Waterloo, you will use platform one, stopping at stations such as Wimbledon and Clapham Junction before arriving in the city of London in under 40 minutes. Platform two will take you directly to Guildford, including stops at Cobham & Stoke D'Abernon and Horsley — this journey is a quick 30 minutes.

The village of Claygate gained its name thanks to to the clay pits within the village, which were used to provide bricks for surrounding areas, and some were also provided for Hampton Court Palace.
