Situated near Leyton Marshes, the River Lea and Millfields Park, Clapton train station has a surprising amount of green around it, given its in Travelcard Zones 2 and 3 in the London Borough of Hackney. The station runs half-hourly services in both directions toward Chingford and Hackney Downs, which take approximately forty-five minutes and ten minutes respectively. Arrivals at Clapton train station from the Lea Valley Line journey on to both Lower and Upper Clapton, with one of London's most unusual churches, adorned with large carvings of angels and animals.
A couple of minutes' walk south take you to a number of independent shops, restaurants and bars and Clapton Library, and further south is the vast expanse of Millfields Park, made up of three large open spaces aside the River Lea, and a wonderful place to wander through sprawling woodland, as well as a conservation area, orchard and nature trail.
