Trains to Chipstead

Chipstead train station lies just outside London in Surrey along the Tattenham Corner Line and opened in the late 19th-century. The original train station buildings and the ticket office were sold off to private developers in late 1990s, though tickets can be bought from a small building on one of the two platforms. Though it isn’t in the London metropolitan area, for transport, it’s still classed as Travelcard Zone 6 and the trains and the station are operated by Southern. A regular service departs every hour direct to London Bridge with a journey time of approximately 41 minutes. There are also direct services every hour to East Croydon, with a journey time of approximately 19 minutes.

Once you disembark, you’ll be in the heart of this pretty town and within walking distance of the Chipstead Golf Club. It features a challenging 18-hole course complete with fairway bunkers and sloping greens is a great place to practise your swing. Alternatively, if you’ve brought your walking shoes you could make a beeline for the nearby Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to go hiking or saddle up for a day of horse riding.
