The 57-minute train rides to Redditch run 3 times per hour while northbound trains to Lichfield – 28 minutes away – run every 30 minutes. With such a wide choice of possible destinations and connections with trains from Chester Road there are almost countless choices for things to see and do. Birmingham itself has a huge variety of attractions including the Grand Central shopping centre, the Bullring and the National Sealife Centre – all can be reached on foot from Birmingham New Street. The Birmingham Botanical Gardens can be accessed from Five Ways station which is 19 minutes by train from Chester Road. Other possibilities with direct trains include Cadbury World from Bournville station and the Kingfisher shopping centre in Redditch. To make life even easier, Chester Road is a park and ride station and connects directly with the Midland Metro tram system from Birmingham New Street.
