With around 1.9 million passengers passing through each year, Catford Bridge station, in Travelcard Zone 3, is served by trains between London Charing Cross or Cannon Street and Hayes (Kent). The London Cannon Street trains also call at Lewisham, connecting passengers with the DLR for Canary Wharf and East London. Just two minutes’ walk away is Catford station, making it easy to connect with London Blackfriars and St Pancras International and their services to Victoria at Peckham Rye, and outbound towards Bromley and Sevenoaks.
The rather spectacular yellow-brick single-storey Catford Bridge was opened in 1857 and is now a busy commuter station on the Mid Kent Line, just a few minutes’ walk from Catford Broadway with its street market every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Look out, too, for the giant black cat above the entrance to the shopping centre, which has become something of a local landmark.
