Trains to Canley

Canley train station serves the Canley area of Coventry with trains operated by London Midland. It was opened to passengers in 1940 as Canley Halt, though the manned gatehouse which had stood on the line since 1838 still bore the name Canley Gates. The station opened mainly to serve the nearby Standard Motor Company's Works; goods traffic was handled by the larger Coventry station, less than a mile away.

The station later dropped the Halt suffix, and became Canley train station. Today, it has two platforms connected by a footbridge over the line, which replaced a level crossing in 2002. There is a staffed ticket counter and ticket machine and a sheltered waiting area for passengers. Both platforms have step-free access.

Two trains per hour in each direction depart from Canley train station on weekdays and there is an hourly service on Sundays. The fastest direct journey to Birmingham New Street takes 27 minutes and train journeys to Northampton take a minimum of 36 minutes.
