Trains to Cambuslang

Cambuslang train station is located in the town of Cambuslang in Scotland. It provides the town with regular trains operated by Abellio ScotRail which cover the five miles to Glasgow in a time of just 9 minutes. Direct trains also connect the station with Dalmuir and Motherwell, with fastest journey times of 38 minutes and 15 minutes respectively. There are also occasional direct services to Edinburgh.  

The town itself has a prosperous history, dating back to the Iron Age. Cambuslang train station opened in 1849, as part of the Clydesdale Junction Railway. There were two station buildings, one on each platform, which have since been demolished and replaced by a single ticket office off Main Street. The platforms today both have small shelters and seats and they are linked by a footbridge over the line, with ramped access on both sides. The nearest local shops are within a short walk and a bus station just outside the station provides local connections. Three train stations now serve Cambuslang: Kirkhill, Newtown and Cambuslang, which is part of the Argyle Line.
