Running across canals to pull into Cambridge Heath, East London, London Overground trains on the Lea Valley Lines enter one of the capital's most fashionable districts. Cambridge Heath is home to countless art galleries and museums and a plethora of trendy independent cafes and shops all within Travelcard Zone 2. With one of London's best-kept secrets, the Regent's Canal, which was very nearly part of the railway, the vast expanse of Victoria Park less than ten minutes' walk away, and the V&A Museum of Childhood, five minutes away, Cambridge Heath has a lot to offer locals and visitors alike. For a long time, the station, which opened in 1872, only operated a weekday peak service, with the full daytime service not coming into operation until 1998 and weekend trains only arriving in 2001. Today, regular services leave the station for the ten-minute journey to London Liverpool Street on platform 1, and a 30-minute trip to Enfield and Cheshunt via Seven Sisters from platform 2.

Station details & facilities

The small station at Cambridge Heath is just off Cambridge Heath Road, under the arches of the Overground line in one of the area's commercial areas. While there is no station concourse to speak of, a mini cafe and ticket machine can be found at the front of the station, along with secure bike storage. The station's two platforms, which are linked by a subway, both have sheltered waiting areas, bench seating and customer help points.
