Trains to Bushey

Up until the 1970s, Bushey station was called Bushey & Oxhey, reflecting the fact that it serves both south Hertfordshire towns; although it's actually closer to Oxhey with the centre of Bushey about a mile away. Name aside, it was the coming of the railway in 1837 that contributed to the growth of this whole area, attracting new industries, jobs and associated housing developments well into the 20th century. Nowadays Bushey is an important commuter station served by London Overground trains on the Watford DC line between London Euston to Watford Junction, and London Midland trains on the West Coast main line. Platform 2 is used for the London Overground stopping services to Euston, and the faster London Midland trains, calling only at Harrow & Wealdstone, go from platform 6. Trains for Watford Junction depart from platform 1, and for Tring, it's platform 5. Platforms 3 and 4 are rarely used as the lines here are mainly for fast trains that don't stop at Bushey.
