It has two platforms and both can be accessed by steps from the nearby Liverpool Road or directly from the adjacent car parks. Local transport connections can be made at the bus stop just outside the station for passengers wishing to continue to Burscough Junction. A small station café and ticket office existed at the station between 2005 and 2016 but closed due to lack of funding. However, the cafes and shops at the Burscough Wharf retail development are just a short walk away.
