Burnage train station is located in the south Manchester suburb of Burnage, a mainly residential area situated on the Styal Line. The station is mainly used by commuters to the city centre and airport and is one of two serving Burnage. Trains from Burnage station typically depart twice an hour for Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Airport and Crewe, with fastest journey times of 10 minutes, 12 minutes and 50 minutes respectively. Extra trains to Southport and some services on the TransPennine Express also stop here during peak hours.
Burnage train station was originally opened in 1910, though it has been redeveloped a couple of times since then, most recently in 2007. Today the station has a staffed ticket office and two platforms, with seats and shelters for passengers. It is located near a small shopping area.
