Trains to Bromley Cross (Lancs)

Bromley Cross train station serves Bromley Cross near Bolton. The station at Bromley Cross dates from 1848. The original timber station building was replaced by permanent structures made with local sandstone in 1859, and improvements to the goods yard were outlined in 1891. There have been several changes and improvements in the intervening years but several interesting features remain intact. The signal box at Bromley Cross train station dates from 1875 and it is now Grade II listed, as are the original platform and the 1859 station building. The station clock was installed in the early 1900s.  

Today, there is a staffed ticket office and waiting room for passengers on platform one and a sheltered waiting area on platform two.  A barrow crossing over the line links the two platforms, both can also be accessed via ramped entryways from the adjoining streets.
