The Broadgreen district of Liverpool is served by trains from Broad Green train station which connect it with Liverpool Lime Street, Wigan and Manchester. Direct trains to Wigan North Western take 36 minutes and the fastest journey times to Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Victoria are 12 minutes and 47 minutes respectively.

The station buildings at Broad Green are not original but the station itself dates from the 1830s and is the oldest currently used railway station in the world. A park and ride scheme operates from Broad Green station, which is situated very close to the M62 motorway.
