Bishop Auckland Station is located on Newgate Street in Bishop Auckland, Durham. It is served by the Northern Railways Tees Valley Line which runs from Bishop Auckland to Saltburn-by-the-Sea and serves as the terminus for the Weardale Heritage Railway route.
The station is located a short walk away from the Statue of St Laurel which can be found on Princess Street, and a 15-minute walk away from Auckland Castle and Auckland Castle Deer House. Bishop Auckland is also the nearest station to Barnard Castle – once you exit the station, take the X1 service to the town hall and then change to either the X75 or X76 Arriva service, which runs directly to the site. The journey takes approximately an hour and a half.
Bishop Auckland is a one-platform station, with access to the station being through the 20-space car pack which is found off Bob Hardisty Drive. There are no ticket machines at this station, however there is a staffed ticket office. There is also a cafe located by the entrance to the station. Bus stops can be found on Newgate Street.
