Bicester North station is on the Chiltern Main Line linking London Marylebone and Birmingham. It is the larger of two stations serving the busy commuter town of Bicester in north-east Oxfordshire. Over the last decade or so, the station has seen a steep rise in passenger use, with, at the last count, over 1.6 million journeys through the station per year. There are usually at least three trains per hour to and from London Marylebone, with more at peak times. To London, average journey times are around 55 minutes; for trying north to Birmingham Snow Hill and Stratford-upon-Avon, around 1 hour 10 minutes.
The station is located in a mainly residential area, although it's only about a 15-minute walk to the town centre, or buses from around the corner on Buckingham Road take about eight minutes. Shuttle buses from directly outside the station connect passengers with Bicester Village outlet shopping centre.
