Located three and a half miles from the village of Beaulieu, Beaulieu Road Railway Station is a two-platform station served by the London Waterloo to Poole route. First opened as a private station, Beaulieu Road was later opened to the public and has remained a halt along the route since. Down trains from Beaulieu Road towards Poole operate every two or three hours, Monday to Friday; only four up trains operate during the weekday. On Saturdays, there are five London-bound trains and six Poole-bound trains. On Sundays, trains to and from Beaulieu Road in both directions call hourly.

The station is close to the New Forest, and the New Forest Tour summer open top bus service stops adjacent to Beaulieu Road. Station amenities are sparse, although both platforms have a shelter, seating, and information points. Step-free access is available to platform 2 for down trains to Poole and Bournemouth; platform 1 for up trains to Southampton and London is only accessible by step.
