Only two trains call per day at Barry Links—one northbound to Aberdeen, one southbound to Edinburgh. Services do not call at Barry Links on Sundays.
The Edinburgh to Aberdeen line is not electrified, and so the station is served by diesel multiple units. Station amenities are understandably sparse; waiting shelters and seating are available on each platform, and there is no unassisted wheelchair access to either platform. Passengers for destinations along the Edinburgh to Aberdeen line, including those requiring facilities, are advised to board at nearby Carnoustie (approximately 2 miles away) instead.
