Tucked 20 miles southwest of Carlisle, Aspatria Railway Station serves the Cumbrian town of Aspatria. Operated by Northern, the station is a request stop along the scenic Cumbrian coast Line and sees many commuters and travellers alike. Northbound trains from Aspatria to Carlisle and southbound to Whitehaven typically call once an hour on weekdays, with a few southbound trains continuing on to Lancaster and Preston via the Furness Line. On Sundays, four trains depart Aspatria station in each direction.
Aspatria Railway Station has two platforms, each of which has step-free access. The station is unstaffed, so passengers should purchase their tickets in advance or while on the train. Each platform has a shelter and seating area for passenger convenience and comfort. Timetable posters are available, and the station now offers public wifi as well. The footbridge connecting the two platforms is Grade II listed, and although the main station buildings are now in private use, their impressive brick architecture can still be admired by waiting customers.
